garden neglect.

This is what a neglected garden looks like :

beans as woody as tree branches.


potato plants ravaged by beetles.


kale plants that have made a run for it and escaped their row cover ; brassicas covered in moth-y butterfly types.


and lamb’s quarters (among other undesired greenery) almost as tall as my very tall partner.


This humidex is getting to me so my attempts to weed/uncover, harvest, and save crops with a lovely warm infant wrapped to my person (my front no less given the whole back wearing – neck control thing) have been very very limited.

Luckily my beaux-parents have saved and preserved beans for us and P. harvests almost daily for our meals.


(and isn’t made grumpy by this heat at all).
